India-Nepal Women’s Art Workshop and Exhibition on Mithila Art

BPKF in association with Shivata Love Foundation Nepal organized ‘India-Nepal Women’s Art Workshop and Exhibition on Mithila Art’ in Janakpur and Kathmandu from 8th August 2024 marking 78th Independence Day of India. Shivata Love Foundation organized a Mithila painting exhibition at Nepal Art Council Babarmahal on August 15, 2024. Prasanna Srivastava, DCM Indian Embassy, Kathmandu inaugurated the painting exhibition hosted by senior artist and chairperson of the foundation Ragini Upadhyaya. Some 22 paintings based on traditional Mithila art done by senior Nepalese and Indian artists were on displayed at the exhibition. The paintings were created during a workshop at Janakpurdham, Dhanusha jointly organized by Shivata Love Foundation and BP Koirala India – Nepal Foundation. Thirteen Nepalese and seven Indian female artists took part in the workshop.
